Ok so after much thought, I decided to go with Lightning Source as my printer and NOT Createspace. Lightning source allows me to get on the Ingram database which allows me to get into the brick and mortar stores. I wanted to see my book in hardback which Createspace can’t do. Here’s what I’ve learned so far in working with them. Lightning source has a steep learning curve. So after I filled out the online application I discovered that I missed digitally signing some documents. Apparently multiple browser windows opened up, and I needed to sign each one. (I thought I only needed to do one.) Well it turns out after messing that step up I had to print out hard copies of the several pieces of paperwork and fax them into Lightning source for approval. I did this, got a nice email indicating they received my fax, but guess what. I apparently missed a signature, so I had to fax it again. This time with the all the correct signatures. It’s a hassle but hey, for a great quality printed work I figure it’s worth it. So as it stands right now my application is pending. Waiting for them to receive and approve my paperwork which I expect sometime to occur in the next day or two. I’ll keep you posted as things progress.
